      This sea turtle illustration was inspired by my encounters with sea turtles. Sea turtles were among the first creatures I drew that truly felt tied to my experiences here. The artwork is based on a juvenile green sea turtle, inspired by a photograph from the Grand Cayman Turtle Refuge. Learning more about these ancient animals led me down a joyful rabbit hole of books, facts, and wonder—deepening my appreciation for their quiet resilience and mystery. Florida’s beaches host nesting sea turtles who return, guided by Earth’s magnetic field, to the very sands where they were born. This art is a small tribute to that remarkable journey and the living world beneath the waves.
